January 15th, 2011 -
Season reaches the sharp pointy bit
After the action switched to Corbin
for Round 7 today, the ladder for
both leagues still looks remarkably
similar to the way it did last
weekend. The fate of all teams over
the last three games remains in
their own hands, with pitching,
hitting and field defense all
playing a part in winning games so
far.

January 4th, 2011 - Management Staff announced
The Managers (ie: "Head Coaches" in
our lingo) for all nine teams have
been announced.
This year, we're not publishing
individual contact details for each
one, unlike past seasons. For your
team, your own manager will be in
touch, and will probably give you
his/her own private contact details,
but we've found it's not efficient
to publish this information on the
Web for all teams.

December 22nd, 2010 -
Important Announcement
The response to the Holiday
Competition has been very good. Too
good, in fact. Unfortunately we will
not be able to accommodate all the
players that have nominated.
Sadly, we can't please everyone.
We wanted 88 players and have
received in excess of 110
nominations. so there has to be some
way of reconciling this.
Even though we have increased the
number of teams in Major League to
five - and increased the squad size
to 12 players rather than 11- there
are still not enough spaces
available for all the players who
have nominated.
The order of selection criteria
is - in order :
- First, Players not
registered in Hills in season
2010/11 were eliminated.
- Second, those who cannot
play a minimum of 75% of the
scheduled games were eliminated.
- Third is by age- the 2002
and 2003 DOB are considered too
young given the number of older
players available.
- Fourth is in Minor League -
players playing liveball in the
weekend competitions will have
precedence over those in Modball
and TeeBall. The latter will
have their "turn" next year or
the year after.
Those missing out on Major League
will be offered a place in Minor
League.
This may well prove to be
advantageous for some of the
'specialist' position players. They
will get opportunities to pitch or
catch or to even play in the infield
in Minor League - opportunities that
they would not get at all playing in
Major League, such is the playing
depth of that competition.
The increase in squad numbers
obviously affects the available
playing time for players.
It would be disappointing if
anyone were to withdraw after the
teams are posted on the Hills LL
website this Friday because it would
mean that some child had been denied
an opportunity to participate and
possibly made other arrangements.
Should you wish to withdraw your
child's nomination please contact
John Yard
by return email.
December 1st , 2010 - Launch
The Hills Holiday Season Little
League programme is launched. All
age-eligible Hills players with
